My beautiful Lady and I were enjoying a wonderful dinner in Las Vegas when we were treated with the joyous news that Scott Brown(R) had soundly defeated his rival, Martha Coakley(D) for the vacant senatorial seat in Massachussetts.
After lifting our glasses to toast the victory of Brown and the apparent awakening of common sense in that state, our conversation turned to how the news would be greeted on each side of the Congressional aisle. Our thoughts ranged from the Democrats trying to simply downgrade the importance of the election outcome to their trying to find some dark, devious action that they could use to point to why Brown won in a notoriously liberal state. However, neither of us could have imagined the incredible spin put on it by our own flealess....er, sorry, I mean fearless leader, Obama himself!
The next morning while watching the news I was treated to the words of Obama, "What swept me into office is the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office. The American people are angry and frustrated by what has been happening not only in the last one or two years, but over the last eight years!" Wow!!! Can you say "denial" and "projection"?
First, let me say that to an extent, Obama is right with one thing. Obama was swept into office by those who were angry and frustrated with George W. Bush and his administration, be they right or wrong. However, with that being said, Obama plainly showed his willingness to deny reality. That reality is that the anger and frustration shown this time by the voters in Massachussetts was not against Bush, but against Obama and his band of hooligans that have worked to ruin this country over the last year! I guarantee you that Obama knows this but his lack of spine and character leads him to take the road of denial and try to cloak himself with the masses while attempting to project all blame on the Bush administration. He needs to try a serious dose of integrity and accept the fact that the Bush administration has been out of office for a year now and that the current fiasco is his and his alone. He needs to stand up and admit that the American people have spoken loudly against the corruptness of his administration, the massive, elitist indifference his party has shown against the average citizen and the forceful ramming of extreme leftist legislation down the throats of the very populace who elected him into office in the first place. The American people are tired of corrupt cabinet nominations, back-room closed door deals, weak dealing with terrorists, extremely out of control spending and the total bankrupting of this country for the sake of appointed Obama-ists. The people of this country are equally tired of the unbelievably disdainful and dismissive attitudes of those like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Tim Geithner, Eric Holder and others of their ilk! They want a change and it's not one that supports the Obama political machine!
One final thought here as well is that Democrats are now really scared as they should be. They now see that if they can lose a senatorial seat to a Republican in a traditionally liberal state, they certainly can (and many will thank goodness) lose their own seat in the next election. In this respect, I believe that many will see that Obama's "rock star" power has faded dramatically. Three times now Obama has campaigned for Democrats in Virginia, New Jersey and now Massachussetts.....and three times now, those Democrats have lost! But if you look at the race in New York where a runner by the name of Doug Hoffman(R) came almost out of obscurity and ran for a congressional seat (and came very close) you see the opposite. In this case Obama did not stop by and campaign for Hoffman's opponent.....and Hoffman lost. Coincidence? I don't think so! So my take is that Obama should campaign for EVERY Democrat out there for the upcoming congressional election. Based on recent history, this would almost ensure us a Republican majority in the House and Senate!!!
The American people are waking up and realizing we have to take our country back if we want to still have a country that is the beacon of freedom and liberty! Let freedom ring, let common sense reign and let the American voice be heard just like it was in Massachussetts. Congratulations Senator Scott Brown!!!

Obama's Outrageous Denial
Last night, my beautiful Lady were at dinner when we recieved the great news that Scott Brown(R) had successfully won the election for the open senatorial seat in Massachussetts over his competitor, Martha Coakley(D). In addition to raising our glasses to toast Scott Brown's much needed victory, we also toasted the apparent awakening of the American public and the re-birth of common sense. Our conversation then progressed to what the Democrats across this country must be thinking and how they will try to spin the results of this election.
At the top of our list was the discussion of how the White House would spin the results of this election. We came up with multiple scenarios ranging from dismissing it as important to trying to find ways to muddy the water and accuse Brown's side of some

Democrats are SCARED!!!!
This is the week the special election is held in Massachussetts to fill the seat vacated by the death Sen. Ted Kennedy and Democrats are out in force trying to ensure they don't lose this seat!
At first glance, it seems that the liberal Democrats simply don't want to lose any power by having the senatorial seat go to (gasp....dare I say it??) a conservative Republican!!! But it goes way, way beyond that simple thought. The Democrats initially thought they would have an easy victory with Martha Coakley(D) but they have realized the election of Republican Scott Brown would do more than just take a seat of power away from them. In addition, there seems to be a ground-swell of voters leaning toward Brown in light of the highly dismal performance record, integrity issues and voter anger plaguing the Obama administration.
Brown, who has been able to use these issues to gain support has vowed to vote against the healthcare bill if elected. He would take away the critical 60th vote needed by the Democrats to pass the bill which has been kept on life-support by closed-door sessions, lack of transparency as promised by Obama and back-room deals. One must remember how desperately this administration wants to "be the one who passed healthcare reform" so they can use this platform to appear compassionate, "in-step with the American people" and get Obama elected again in 2012. Never mind the widely known and published fact that the majority of Americans don't want this healthcare bill being shoved down our throats. This is especially poignant since Congress has exempted themselves from the very bill they are trying to force on us! Most Americans do admit that healthcare reform is needed, but not the way the Democrats in Congress and our all too eager leader in the White House are trying to craft it. A loss in Massachussetts would also signal the third in a series of wins in which Democrats were highly expected to win, but instead lost to the opposite side of the aisle.
So how have the Democrats been dealing with the growing fear they might actually lose this seat in Massachussetts??? They have launched an enormous attack campaign against Brown and tried very hard to paint him as being one in the back pockets of special interest groups, Wall Street, bankers etc. (Perhaps they should look first at their own party in this respect? For instance, Tim Geithner, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi etc...) They also have crafted a plan to get the bill passed before Brown actually gets sworn in....just in case he actually gains a victory! According to the Associated Press (Press Enterprise - Jan 18, 2010) this plan would be to have House Democrats accept a bill the Senate passed last month despite their own objections to several parts. Then Obama could sign it into law without another Senate vote needed. House leaders would then urge the Senate to make changes later under a complex plan that would only require a simple majority vote. (Can you say, "Do it now, fix it later!"?)
Does this set off alarms in anyone else but myself??? Let's look at the situation shall we? We have an administration that seeks to enact what is essentially an unconstitutional bill (it is unconstitutional to require someone to purchase a particular good or service simply because they live in this country) with measures that the majority of the American people don't want. They have hammered out the deals behind closed doors, in secrecy, in spite of repeated vows by the President that the proceedings would be open and transparent. (Why? Because they know that if the average citizen really saw what was going on, they would be up in arms about it.)They are running scared and are viciously attacking the opponent in Massachussetts. They have crafted a plan to enact an unconstitutional bill anyway in the event that the GOP candidate wins, thereby thwarting his constitutionally-granted right to vote against it. Does this sound like good government of the people, for the people and by the people to you? Does it sound like integrity and true concern for the good of the American citizens? It doesn't sound, look or smell that way to me!
Lastly, it will be interesting to see what happens simply from past experience with the elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Remember those? Obama lent his "star-dom" to the campaigns of New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Creigh Deeds in Virgina.....both of whom went on to lose their respective elections! Now Obama has brought his oratory talents to Massachussetts to help Martha Coakley. If I were her, I'd be a bit scared and wary of the outcome. Of course on my side, I hope that we see a "third in a row" this week, a mandate by the American people. I wait with bated breath!!
