Kudos to Governor Brewer and the State of Arizona

To all you nay-sayers out there that are so venomous in your attacks against Arizona Governor Jan Brewer and the recent legislation she signed......I suggest you form a wagon train and head to the regions of Mexico, Guatamala, El Salvador and the likes! Personally, I have great respect for the Arizona State Legistlature and Governor Brewer! I tip my hat to them and hope daily that they achieve the results they so desperately seek.
Let's start with the fact that this is the United States of America.....not Mexico or any of the other countries that are so up in arms against the actions of Arizona to protect themselves, their families and their way of life. Other countries have no business whatsoever telling the United States or any state in the country how to run, regulate and manage their populace.
Then let's move from there to the fact that the federal government has been extremely lacking in the enforcement of our laws regarding illegal immigration. The residents of Arizona, along with California, Texas and New Mexico have suffered the effects of illegal immigration for a long time. They have asked for help and for the most part have been given little to none to stem the continuous flow of human flotsam from Central and South America. In desperation and in an attempt to stem the ever-growing wave of violence, drugs and general lack of safety for themselves and their families, they have decided to act.
In very large part, the ones loudest against the actions of Arizona are far-left leaning liberals and those who themselves are here illegally. Case in point, on May 1st, Los Angeles saw throngs of illegal immigrants take to the streets to protest Arizona'a actions. Along with them were ultra-liberal groups like the ACLU, all of who were quick to call anyone who agreed with the legistlation vile names like, "brown-shirts, nazi's, racists etc..." (Has anyone besides myself noticed how easily and quickly the term "nazi" is thrown around these days? All you have to do is disagree with any liberal and you will immediately be labeled a nazi, racist or whatever else they can come up with.)

No Experience Required

Well, it's official......! Specifically, President Obama's nomination of Elena Kagan for a seat on the U.S Supreme Court makes it official. It is now perfectly acceptable to nominate and potentially hire a person for a position in which they have absolutely no experience. One would think that if you hire a person to perform an important job or fill an important position that they would at least have some experience. Not so with this new nominee. While Kagan is a Princeton graduate, a University of Chicago law professor (yes, this is the same university that Barack Obama was a law professor at...) as well as the Dean of Harvard Law School and a Solicitor General, there is one glaring thing missing. She has NEVER, I repeat, NEVER been an judge anywhere in any court!! Never has she donned the black judicial robes and sat in judgment of even the lowliest lawbreakers or those seeking even the lowest level of civil judgment. And now, our illustrious president has nominated her for the highest level seat a judge can sit on in this country. Am I the only one that sees a major problem with this?
Imagine if you needed open-heart surgery. Now, imagine that the doctor that was going to conduct that surgery on you had NEVER done one before but had only taught about it! How comfortable would you feel in letting this doctor near you with a scalpel? I would venture to guess that not many people would be at ease with this. This situation is no different in the respect that Supreme Court justices set judicial precedent and decision making for the rest of the entire country. Do you feel comfortable with Kagan donning the black robes and making decisions in a position in which she has never even acted in the slightest judicial manner? I certainly don't.
Perhaps it has to do with her being connected with the Chicago political machine via Obama. Or perhaps, Obama himself truly sees no problem with nominating someone for the loftiest and most prestigious position in the legal field in spite of the fact that the nomineee has as much experience being a judge as I do. (That would be none by the way..) After all, Obama himself was elected to the highest executive position in the country without having any executive experience whatsoever as well!! So I guess that job experience really isn't necessary!
On a related note, I am applying for the post of U.S. Surgeon General tomorrow.....I'm sure I'll be successful!

The Final Blow

So, here we are the day after the House of Representatives voted for Obama-Care 219-212, after backroom deals, arm twisting and sweetheart deals all designed to ensure Obama gets his way in bringing greater harm to this great country of ours! And is this country any better for it??? The answer is a resounding "NO"!!!
What this despicable action yesterday shows is the ultimate contempt and disregard for what this country was founded on.....government by the people, for the people. Interestingly enough, Obama is quoted yesterday as saying after the vote, "We proved that this government....still works for the people." I'd like to ask which people those are Mr. President? Wait, better yet, I'll answer it for you!!
The people Obama is talking about is the vast MINORITY in this country which flies in the face of what our form of government is suppose to be all about. The majority are supposed to rule and the elected officials are sent to Washington to be the voice of their constituents. This health care bill will ensure there is coverage for approximately 32 million people or if you put it another way, 12% more than already have coverage and are satisfied with it! That's right...12%!!!! The percentage of Americans this bill will cover takes us from approximately 83% having medical coverage to 95% having coverage. So it is plain to see the American people Obama was referring to was the 12%.....which in anyone's book that has a brain is an extreme minority!
So here in the culmination of our elected officials casting a vote to raise our deficit by over 900 billion dollars (money we don't have and can't afford to spend) and forcing this bill against the voice and will of the true majority of this country's citizens, we have a true and complete disconnect. Obama, Pelosi, Reid and all 219 elected officials that voted for the bill have effectively said to the MAJORITY in this country, "Screw you! We're going to do this, WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT and oh yeh, we're going to make you pay for it as well!!!! You, your kids, your grandkids and maybe even your great-grandkids!"
Want to know where the money's going to come from? All of this would be paid for in two ways: By reducing spending on Medicare by hundreds of billions, and by imposing a set of new taxes, including a 40% levy on certain high-priced insurance policies. Simply put, this means we ALL are going to pay higher taxes (oh, except those 32 million because they are usually in the poverty level and not paying much in taxes to begin with, if any at all...), and see huge cuts in Medicare for senior citizens (well, we pay too much for them anyway right? I mean, most spending on healthcare IS when you get to be a senior citizen right? So why not just cut them off and pull back on the amount of healthcare they need to enjoy their golden years?)What's not to like about this? I mean, it's not like we're taxed to death already right? And really....who cares about the Constitution, the fact that healthcare is a benefit, not a right and the fact that we will all be FORCED to buy healthcare insurance just because we live in this country? Those aren't important factors right?
Well, here is my take. They haven't heard the last of me. Come the next election, I am voting every single incumbent out! It's time for a new mind-set in our political scenery. I will urge everyone who will listen to vote AGAINST every single politician who voted for the healthcare bill with the hopes we can oust every single one of them from their cushy offices. Maybe THEN, they will start to understand what it means to "work for the people"....not just their own personal interests and the minority!

The Madness Continues...

Last week President Obama, the Republicans and the Democrats all got together for the dog and pony show on healthcare. Out of this came absolutely no progress at all. Truth be told, nobody really expected any progress to result from this meeting of the minds. It was symbolism in it's finest form. Obama used it as an opportunity to make himself look magnanimous mainly by inviting the Republicans and basically stating that he liked four, count them, only four of the proposals put forth by the GOP for healthcare reform. He also had this session planned in order to be able to say to the American people, "I tried, but the Republicans refuse to work with us." and paint the GOP as an obstructionist party. The Democrats were there to toe the party line and side with their liberal leader and the Republicans showed up wih the extremely thin hope that the Democrats might actually listen to what they have to say. In the end though, when the Republicans wouldn't bend to his feigned grace and generosity, Obama became "civilly surly" and commented that it needed to be put to a vote by the American people.
That however is not what is happening as Obama has been trying desperately to rally house and senate democrats to his side. In doing so, the Associated Press reports he urged them to focus on the positives rather than their deep disappointment with parts of the bill. Obama assured them the legislation was merely the first step and he promised to work with them in the future to improve it's provisions.
So here's my take on this. First let me say that I and so, so many others have the distinct view of Obama as being a bully! Yes, I said a bully! He wants his way no matter what the cost and he is not above doing whatever he needs to do to get it done his way. He is not willing to let the American people vote on this healthcare fiasco but instead is determined to drive it through by any means necessary......regardless of the fact that the vast majority of citizens in this country have made it perfectly clear that they don't want this healthcare bill!!!! In this regard, Obama is so completely out of touch that it's disgusting. Let's keep in mind here why he is so driven to do this. Is it because he really cares about the health and well-being of the American people? No, because if that were the case, he would be listening and not pushing this bill that is so laden with problems and debt. Let's be clear here. Obama wants this because above anything else, he wants to be able to say that HE, Barack Obama was the first president in decades that was successful in over-hauling the healthcare system in this country!!! He wants to go down in history as "The president that fixed healthcare when nobody else could!"
The other side of this falls to the very liberal side of Obama's political views. He believes in socialized medicine and socialism in general. He denies this but his actions show the real content of his character. He has worked to nationalize parts of the auto manufacturing industry (to include forcing the CEO of a PRIVATE company to resign) and the banking industry and now seeks to do the same to the healthcare industry. Why? Because it is a move for more power and this leads to a very fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals want more and more government. They want the citizenry to be increasingly dependent on the government because it is a simple and well-founded fact that the more a countries' citizens depend on the government for every aspect of their lives, the more freedoms and liberties the government can take away thereby increasing their power over the populace. One only needs to read history (providing it hasn't been handily revised to remove these truths) to see the validity of this. Conservatives desire just the opposite!
Lastly here, if the leaders of this country are going to spend TRILLIONS of our dollars.......shouldn't it be done right the first time so it doesn't need improvement??? I mean, if they're are going to spend a thousand dollars then fine.....do it and make improvements. But for heaven's sake, if trillions of our hard-earned dollars are going to be spent.....and spent on a worse healthcare system than we have now....then the least they could do is take their time, do it right and get the backing of the people it is going to affect!!! By the way, keep in mind that whatever the politicians pass for healthcare, they will ensure they will not be held to the same system or standards.

The Denial of Obama

My beautiful Lady and I were enjoying a wonderful dinner in Las Vegas when we were treated with the joyous news that Scott Brown(R) had soundly defeated his rival, Martha Coakley(D) for the vacant senatorial seat in Massachussetts.
After lifting our glasses to toast the victory of Brown and the apparent awakening of common sense in that state, our conversation turned to how the news would be greeted on each side of the Congressional aisle. Our thoughts ranged from the Democrats trying to simply downgrade the importance of the election outcome to their trying to find some dark, devious action that they could use to point to why Brown won in a notoriously liberal state. However, neither of us could have imagined the incredible spin put on it by our own flealess....er, sorry, I mean fearless leader, Obama himself!
The next morning while watching the news I was treated to the words of Obama, "What swept me into office is the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office. The American people are angry and frustrated by what has been happening not only in the last one or two years, but over the last eight years!" Wow!!! Can you say "denial" and "projection"?
First, let me say that to an extent, Obama is right with one thing. Obama was swept into office by those who were angry and frustrated with George W. Bush and his administration, be they right or wrong. However, with that being said, Obama plainly showed his willingness to deny reality. That reality is that the anger and frustration shown this time by the voters in Massachussetts was not against Bush, but against Obama and his band of hooligans that have worked to ruin this country over the last year! I guarantee you that Obama knows this but his lack of spine and character leads him to take the road of denial and try to cloak himself with the masses while attempting to project all blame on the Bush administration. He needs to try a serious dose of integrity and accept the fact that the Bush administration has been out of office for a year now and that the current fiasco is his and his alone. He needs to stand up and admit that the American people have spoken loudly against the corruptness of his administration, the massive, elitist indifference his party has shown against the average citizen and the forceful ramming of extreme leftist legislation down the throats of the very populace who elected him into office in the first place. The American people are tired of corrupt cabinet nominations, back-room closed door deals, weak dealing with terrorists, extremely out of control spending and the total bankrupting of this country for the sake of appointed Obama-ists. The people of this country are equally tired of the unbelievably disdainful and dismissive attitudes of those like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Tim Geithner, Eric Holder and others of their ilk! They want a change and it's not one that supports the Obama political machine!
One final thought here as well is that Democrats are now really scared as they should be. They now see that if they can lose a senatorial seat to a Republican in a traditionally liberal state, they certainly can (and many will thank goodness) lose their own seat in the next election. In this respect, I believe that many will see that Obama's "rock star" power has faded dramatically. Three times now Obama has campaigned for Democrats in Virginia, New Jersey and now Massachussetts.....and three times now, those Democrats have lost! But if you look at the race in New York where a runner by the name of Doug Hoffman(R) came almost out of obscurity and ran for a congressional seat (and came very close) you see the opposite. In this case Obama did not stop by and campaign for Hoffman's opponent.....and Hoffman lost. Coincidence? I don't think so! So my take is that Obama should campaign for EVERY Democrat out there for the upcoming congressional election. Based on recent history, this would almost ensure us a Republican majority in the House and Senate!!!
The American people are waking up and realizing we have to take our country back if we want to still have a country that is the beacon of freedom and liberty! Let freedom ring, let common sense reign and let the American voice be heard just like it was in Massachussetts. Congratulations Senator Scott Brown!!!

Obama's Outrageous Denial

Last night, my beautiful Lady were at dinner when we recieved the great news that Scott Brown(R) had successfully won the election for the open senatorial seat in Massachussetts over his competitor, Martha Coakley(D). In addition to raising our glasses to toast Scott Brown's much needed victory, we also toasted the apparent awakening of the American public and the re-birth of common sense. Our conversation then progressed to what the Democrats across this country must be thinking and how they will try to spin the results of this election.
At the top of our list was the discussion of how the White House would spin the results of this election. We came up with multiple scenarios ranging from dismissing it as important to trying to find ways to muddy the water and accuse Brown's side of some

Democrats are SCARED!!!!

This is the week the special election is held in Massachussetts to fill the seat vacated by the death Sen. Ted Kennedy and Democrats are out in force trying to ensure they don't lose this seat!
At first glance, it seems that the liberal Democrats simply don't want to lose any power by having the senatorial seat go to (gasp....dare I say it??) a conservative Republican!!! But it goes way, way beyond that simple thought. The Democrats initially thought they would have an easy victory with Martha Coakley(D) but they have realized the election of Republican Scott Brown would do more than just take a seat of power away from them. In addition, there seems to be a ground-swell of voters leaning toward Brown in light of the highly dismal performance record, integrity issues and voter anger plaguing the Obama administration.
Brown, who has been able to use these issues to gain support has vowed to vote against the healthcare bill if elected. He would take away the critical 60th vote needed by the Democrats to pass the bill which has been kept on life-support by closed-door sessions, lack of transparency as promised by Obama and back-room deals. One must remember how desperately this administration wants to "be the one who passed healthcare reform" so they can use this platform to appear compassionate, "in-step with the American people" and get Obama elected again in 2012. Never mind the widely known and published fact that the majority of Americans don't want this healthcare bill being shoved down our throats. This is especially poignant since Congress has exempted themselves from the very bill they are trying to force on us! Most Americans do admit that healthcare reform is needed, but not the way the Democrats in Congress and our all too eager leader in the White House are trying to craft it. A loss in Massachussetts would also signal the third in a series of wins in which Democrats were highly expected to win, but instead lost to the opposite side of the aisle.
So how have the Democrats been dealing with the growing fear they might actually lose this seat in Massachussetts??? They have launched an enormous attack campaign against Brown and tried very hard to paint him as being one in the back pockets of special interest groups, Wall Street, bankers etc. (Perhaps they should look first at their own party in this respect? For instance, Tim Geithner, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi etc...) They also have crafted a plan to get the bill passed before Brown actually gets sworn in....just in case he actually gains a victory! According to the Associated Press (Press Enterprise - Jan 18, 2010) this plan would be to have House Democrats accept a bill the Senate passed last month despite their own objections to several parts. Then Obama could sign it into law without another Senate vote needed. House leaders would then urge the Senate to make changes later under a complex plan that would only require a simple majority vote. (Can you say, "Do it now, fix it later!"?)
Does this set off alarms in anyone else but myself??? Let's look at the situation shall we? We have an administration that seeks to enact what is essentially an unconstitutional bill (it is unconstitutional to require someone to purchase a particular good or service simply because they live in this country) with measures that the majority of the American people don't want. They have hammered out the deals behind closed doors, in secrecy, in spite of repeated vows by the President that the proceedings would be open and transparent. (Why? Because they know that if the average citizen really saw what was going on, they would be up in arms about it.)They are running scared and are viciously attacking the opponent in Massachussetts. They have crafted a plan to enact an unconstitutional bill anyway in the event that the GOP candidate wins, thereby thwarting his constitutionally-granted right to vote against it. Does this sound like good government of the people, for the people and by the people to you? Does it sound like integrity and true concern for the good of the American citizens? It doesn't sound, look or smell that way to me!
Lastly, it will be interesting to see what happens simply from past experience with the elections in New Jersey and Virginia. Remember those? Obama lent his "star-dom" to the campaigns of New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Creigh Deeds in Virgina.....both of whom went on to lose their respective elections! Now Obama has brought his oratory talents to Massachussetts to help Martha Coakley. If I were her, I'd be a bit scared and wary of the outcome. Of course on my side, I hope that we see a "third in a row" this week, a mandate by the American people. I wait with bated breath!!
